OUR STORY

Berozka Haus — meaning “house of the little birch” — reflects the diverse influences that shape our bakery. The name is a unique blend of languages, combining “Berozka,” the Russian word for little birch, and “Haus,” the German word for house. Just as our name bridges cultures, our menu blends international flavors and traditions.

What began as a student’s passion project in a small dorm kitchen has blossomed into something much larger. While balancing classes and late-night study sessions, our founder discovered that baking was more than just a hobby—it became a way to bring joy to others. What started with cookies for friends soon turned into a creative outlet where the possibilities felt endless.

However, it was travel across China and Southeast Asia that truly transformed Berozka Haus into the bakery it is today. These journeys exposed our founder to vibrant food markets, street vendors, and the rich culinary traditions of the region. Each experience sparked new ideas and a deep appreciation for seasonal ingredients and global flavors, which are now infused into every item we bake. From the bustling streets of Bangkok to the food culture of Shanghai, the lessons learned abroad have become the heart of our bakery.

At Berozka Haus, our menu changes with the seasons, just as the birch tree sheds its leaves and blooms anew. You’ll find rich, spiced treats in the fall and light, refreshing flavors in the summer. Each bite offers a little piece of the world, combining traditional baking techniques with global inspiration.

More than just a bakery, Berozka Haus is a journey—one that tells the story of a student’s dream, international adventures, and a love for baking that continues to grow with every season. Come join us and experience the world in every delicious bite!
